Why Venha Juntos?
The name "Venha Juntos" was chosen because it means "Come Together" in Portuguese, the national language of Mozambique. As the lodge is designed in a way that all the units overlook the pool and braai area, it creates a sense of gathering. Couples also come together here to improve their marriages, as we understand that it can be increasingly difficult for you to connect in today's world. Our hope is that you will rekindle your connection while staying at Venha Juntos.
Our logo features the initials V and J, representing our name, as well as a sun and a wave to signify the tropical climate. The three strands in the logo is a reminder of Ecclesiastes 4:12, "A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." and these 3 strands are made up of a husband, a wife and God.
Our Mission
To equip couples and future spouses with the tools needed to build a strong, Christ-centered marriage that will last a lifetime. We believe that a healthy mariage not only benefits the couple, but also their families, communities and ultimately the world.
Our Vision
1) To create an atmosphere of intimacy and authenticity for couples where they can openly communicate and deepen their understanding of each other. We will achieve this by providing a range of practical tools and resources, including fun excursions and activities to strengten their friendship. We aim to help couples build strong and lasting marriages that thrive in the long term.
2) To provide a welcoming and safe space for singles to explore their options and find happiness and fulfillment, whether they choose to remain single or are preparing for marriage. We will achieve this by offering a range of fun excursions and activities as well as educational resources.
Your hosts
In 2015, we got married for the second time, having both been previously divorced. Each of us had two children from our previous marriages, and blending our families proved to be challenging. Despite our prior experience, marriage remained hard and bringing two families under one roof was particularly difficult.
However, we soon discovered that our marriage was about more than just making it work as a blended family. We believed that our marriage was meant to reflect Christ's love and grace, and the only way to accomplish that was by showing grace and compassion to one another.
In 2020, we felt that God was leading us to move to Mozambique, where we could share our experiences and encourage others in their pursuit of a thriving marriage. When we arrived in the picturesque town of Barra in Inhambane, we knew we had found the ideal location for couples to retreat to. It was a place where they could rekindle their friendship and love for each other while being equipped with tools to strengthen their relationships.
Venha Juntos seem to be the perfect place for this, ensuring that couples return to their daily lives feeling refreshed, empowered, and deeply in love.
Today, we are grateful for the opportunity to share our journey with others and witness the transformation that takes place in the lives of the couples we serve. We continue to trust in God's plan for our lives and marriage, believing that our story can help inspire and equip others to build successful and fulfilling marriages.
